Assisi- It is one of the oldest forms of embroidery. A well created border is among many typical characteristic of this embroidery. It is largely used to create graphical images.
Canvas Work- In this type of embroidery a canvas used so that the yarn can be stitched through it to create beautiful patterns. Needlepoint, bargello and petit point are some of the common forms of Canvas work.
Goldwork- Metals threads is the main crux of gold work. It is mainly used to create shiny and heavily embroidered attires. Gold work is mainly is a surface embroidery. The underlying fabric needs strength to hold on the metal thread work, in most instances silk is used. Some popular metal threads are gold coated, silver coated etc.
Suzani- It is one of the ornamental embroideries from Central Asia. On a base of silk or cotton, fine embroidery is created with stitches like button, chain and satin. The motifs used in this kind of embroidery induce exclusivity. Be it flowers, planetary bodies and small animals, the motifs are well chosen.
